The number of students experiencing homelessness in Santa Clara County is growing. The purpose of the SCCSBA Unhoused Students Committee is to ensure these students have the educational and other resources they need in order to thrive.

This committee . . .

• Advocates for a consistent, comprehensive standard of care for unhoused students and families.

• Advocates for resources across government levels for students experiencing or at risk of experiencing homelessness.

• Better connects school districts to service providers and other agencies to support these students so they are better equipped to succeed at school.

To achieve these goals, the committee . . .

• Creates and shares resolutions, policies, best practices, & collective narratives for applicable resources for students, with high expectations and best practices within and between our districts, across agencies, and in the service provider community.

• Builds coalitions & increases communication across school districts as well as with elected officials, municipalities, nonprofits, and community partners.
